Product Description

Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump

The Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump is a heavy-duty electric submersible pump for wastewater containing solids, fibres and destructible debris. Its chopper hydraulic system cuts troublesome material before discharge. Therefore, the pump helps reduce clogging in demanding sewage and industrial wastewater systems.

Moreover, the UNIQA chopper submersible pump combines strong solids-handling capability with efficient hydraulic performance. Selected 50 Hz models deliver flow rates up to 281.6 l/s and heads up to 82.7 metres.

Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump Design

The Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump uses an open-channel impeller manufactured from hard cast iron as standard. In addition, a robust cutting component works close to the impeller blades to reduce destructible solids and fibrous material.

Consequently, the Zenit solids-cutting pump handles heavily contaminated wastewater while maintaining a large hydraulic passage. Moreover, its hydraulic efficiency remains only around 3–5% below that of a conventional channel impeller.

Key Features of the Zenit ZUG CP Sewage Pump

  • Hard-cast-iron chopper impeller
  • Cutting system for destructible solids
  • Suitable for fibrous wastewater
  • Maximum free passage up to 80 mm
  • Motor power from 1.5 to 75 kW at 50 Hz
  • Two-, four- and six-pole motor options
  • DN80 to DN200 discharge sizes
  • Maximum flow up to 281.6 l/s
  • Maximum head up to 82.7 m
  • Premium IE3 motor design
  • WET and DRY installation versions
  • Dual silicon-carbide mechanical seals
  • Seal-chamber moisture monitoring
  • Hazardous-area versions available

Together, these features make the Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump suitable for municipal, commercial and industrial wastewater applications.

ZUG CP Wastewater Pump Performance

The ZUG CP wastewater pump range provides the following 50 Hz limits:

  • Motor power: 1.5–75 kW
  • Motor poles: Two, four or six
  • Discharge sizes: DN80–DN200
  • Free passage: Up to 80 mm
  • Maximum flow: 281.6 l/s
  • Maximum head: 82.7 m

Meanwhile, selected 60 Hz models deliver up to 129.5 l/s and 76.1 metres of head. However, these figures represent separate maximum limits across the complete range. Therefore, engineers must select each UNIQA chopper pump from its model-specific performance curve.

Hard-Cast-Iron Chopper Pump Hydraulics

The Zenit ZUG CP sewage pump uses a hard-cast-iron impeller to resist demanding wastewater conditions. Consequently, the hydraulic components support reliable operation when liquids contain fibres, solids and other destructible debris.

Moreover, Zenit offers alternative hydraulic materials for selected UNIQA configurations. These may include stainless steel, Duplex and Molib-tech. However, material availability depends on the selected industrial submersible chopper pump model.

IE3 Motor for the UNIQA Chopper Pump

Zenit designs the UNIQA motor to achieve Premium IE3 efficiency according to EN 60034-30. Therefore, the Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump can reduce energy demand compared with less efficient motor alternatives.

In addition, Class H insulation and integrated thermal protection support demanding operating cycles. Consequently, the Zenit sewage-lifting pump combines high hydraulic output with controlled energy consumption and dependable motor protection.

WET and DRY ZUG CP Pump Versions

The WET version operates as a conventional submerged ZUG CP wastewater pump. Alternatively, the DRY version can run continuously while partially submerged or installed inside a dry chamber.

The DRY motor uses a closed water-glycol cooling circuit, an axial recirculation impeller and a stainless-steel double jacket. Therefore, the UNIQA dry-installed sewage pump requires no external cooling-water supply during normal operation.

Zenit ZUG CP Mechanical Seals and Monitoring

The Zenit ZUG CP sewage pump uses two silicon-carbide mechanical seals inside a large oil chamber. Moreover, an oil lifter keeps the upper seal lubricated during operation.

A standard moisture sensor detects liquid entering the seal chamber. Consequently, operators can identify seal wear early and schedule maintenance before an unexpected shutdown of the pump.

ZUG CP Chopper Pump Applications

The UNIQA chopper submersible pump suits:

  • Unscreened sewage
  • Black-water lifting
  • Wastewater containing fibres
  • Municipal sewage stations
  • Industrial wastewater plants
  • Livestock wastewater
  • Commercial building sewage
  • First-rain collection tanks
  • Heavily soiled drainage water
  • Mixed destructible solids

Moreover, the high-flow Zenit solids-cutting pump supports rapid sump emptying. As a result, it can help reduce sedimentation inside sewage collection chambers.

Explosion-Protected Zenit Chopper Pumps

Zenit offers ATEX and IECEx versions of the pump for selected hazardous-area installations.

In addition, WET versions may carry gas-area certification, while DRY versions may support gas and combustible-dust environments. However, buyers must confirm the precise certification marking for the selected ZUG CP wastewater pump before installation.

Selecting a Zenit UNIQA Chopper Pump

Correct selection depends on required flow, total head, solids size, fibre content, wastewater density and installation method.

Moreover, engineers should confirm the power supply, operating frequency, discharge size, motor rating, cooling arrangement and hazardous-area classification. Therefore, specialists should select the Zenit UNIQA ZUG-CP Chopper Pump from model-specific hydraulic data.
