Product Description
RX Series Drainage Pumps
The RX Series Drainage Pumps provide reliable submersible pumping for clear water without abrasive particles. Pedrollo designed the range for domestic and civil drainage applications, including sump emptying, basement drainage and emergency floodwater removal.
Moreover, complete motor cooling supports safe and dependable operation. A double shaft-sealing arrangement also protects the motor from the pumped liquid.
Stainless-Steel RX Drainage Pump Design
Pedrollo manufactures the primary pump components from stainless steel. Therefore, the pumps combine corrosion resistance, manageable weight and reliable operation in compatible clear-water applications.
The compact submersible construction allows the pump to operate directly inside a sump, tank or flooded area. Consequently, users do not need a separate suction pipe or priming system.

RX Series Drainage Pump Performance
The complete range delivers flow rates up to approximately 320 litres per minute, equivalent to 19.2 m³/h. Selected models also develop discharge heads up to approximately 20.5 metres.
However, maximum flow and maximum head occur at different operating points. Therefore, engineers must select the precise model from its hydraulic curve.
The published 50 Hz range includes motor outputs from approximately 0.25 to 1.1 kW.
Clear-Water and Small-Solids Handling
The Pedrollo RX pump can transfer clear water containing suspended solids up to approximately 10 mm.
Therefore, it can handle small particles commonly present in sumps, drainage water and compatible household wastewater. However, the pump is not designed for sewage, sand, abrasive particles or long fibrous substances.
For dirty water containing larger solids, an RX-VORTEX or dedicated wastewater pump may be more appropriate.
Stainless-Steel Construction
The outer sleeve, suction filter, diffuser, impeller, motor sleeve and motor cover use AISI 304 stainless steel.
In addition, Pedrollo manufactures the motor shaft from AISI 431 stainless steel. Consequently, the pump provides durable construction for household and public drainage installations.
Double Shaft-Seal Protection
The RX Series Drainage Pumps use a double shaft seal with an intermediate oil chamber.
On RX 1–3 models, the system combines a mechanical seal with an additional shaft seal. Meanwhile, RX 4–5 models use a double mechanical-seal arrangement.
Therefore, the sealing system provides additional protection between the hydraulic section and electric motor.
Motor and Electrical Options
The range uses two-pole motors designed for continuous-duty operation. Single-phase RXm models include integrated thermal protection and a float switch.
Three-phase RX models are also available for installations with a suitable control panel. Moreover, RX-GM configurations use a compact magnetic float switch, making them useful in narrow sumps where a conventional swinging float has limited space.
RX Drainage Pump Operating Limits
Published operating limits include:
- Maximum flow: Up to 320 l/min
- Maximum head: Up to 20.5 metres
- Maximum solids size: 10 mm
- Maximum continuous liquid temperature: 50°C
- Intermittent temperature: Up to 90°C for three minutes
- Maximum immersion depth: 10 metres
- Protection rating: IP68
- Motor insulation: Class F
- Continuous-duty rating: S1
However, an appropriately sized power cable is required for deeper installations.
Low-Level Drainage Capability
RX 1, RX 2 and RX 3 models can drain water down to approximately 14 mm above the floor.
Larger RX 4 and RX 5 models leave a slightly higher residual level. Consequently, the smaller models may suit rooms, basements and garages where lower final drainage is important.
However, the remaining water level also depends on the installation and float-switch configuration.
Domestic and Civil Applications
The RX Series Drainage Pumps may support:
- Basement flood removal
- Garage drainage
- Room and utility-area flooding
- Clear-water sump emptying
- Rainwater drainage
- Household wastewater transfer
- Washing-machine discharge
- Dishwasher wastewater
- Collection-tank emptying
- Public-building drainage
- Emergency water removal
- Permanent automatic drainage systems
Wastewater from appliances must remain compatible with the pump’s temperature and solids limits.
Installation Considerations
The pump may operate as a portable unit or in a permanent sump installation.
Installers should use correctly sized discharge piping and keep the pump stable on a clean base. In addition, the float switch must have enough space to move freely.
Users should never operate the pump without water for extended periods. They should also keep sand, wipes and long fibres out of the sump.
Selecting the Correct RX Drainage Pump
Correct selection depends on required flow, total head, sump dimensions, residual drainage level and electrical supply.
Engineers should also confirm the liquid temperature, particle size, installation depth and preferred float arrangement. Therefore, specialists should select the exact model from official hydraulic data.
