The Pompetravaini TCD Thermal Oil Pumps are single-stage centrifugal pumps with closed impellers, developed specifically for high-temperature thermal-fluid duties. Standard configurations handle thermal fluids up to 320°C without requiring a special external cooling system.
Moreover, the actively cooled XT version handles diathermic fluids up to 365°C. Consequently, the TCD Series supports demanding industrial heating, circulation and heat-transfer systems.
TCD High-Temperature Centrifugal Pump Design
The TCD thermal-fluid pump uses a specialised heat-barrier chamber between the pump casing and impeller. Therefore, a significant portion of the heat from the pumped liquid is prevented from reaching the bearing and seal area.

Pompetravaini developed the TCD/SP version specifically for vegetable-oil handling. Its design adds an intermediate cover beyond the mechanical seal.
This chamber connects to a reservoir containing oil compatible with the pumped product. Consequently, if the mechanical seal fails, the arrangement helps prevent air from entering and oxidising the vegetable oil.
Moreover, it helps prevent bearing oil from entering the process circuit and process liquid from reaching the bearing system.
