ATS 2000 developed the Mk4 pump with a lubrication-free pneumatic motor, rust-resistant motor components and a rugged vortex pumping section. Consequently, the unit delivers dependable performance without adding oil mist from a conventional lubricated air motor.
Moreover, the pump weighs only 17 kg and includes an ergonomic carrying handle. Therefore, operators can move it quickly between sumps, headings and drainage points where electrical pumps may not suit the site.
High-Performance Mine Dewatering
The P4 Vortex Mk4 combines an inverted impeller with a side-suction volute arrangement. This layout allows water and suspended material to enter from the sides while the pump rests on the bottom of a sump. As a result, the pump can handle grit, fibres and small stones without relying on a conventional bottom screen.
At 700 kPa air pressure, the published specification lists a maximum head of 80 metres and a maximum flow of 764 litres per minute. Meanwhile, at 400 kPa, the pump provides a maximum head of 53 metres and a maximum flow of 674 litres per minute. Actual performance depends on the air supply, hose length, discharge resistance and site conditions.
Main Features
Lubrication-Free Pneumatic Motor
P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps use a lubrication-free air motor. Consequently, operators do not need to introduce oil into the compressed-air supply for routine motor lubrication.
In addition, the motor uses a stainless steel cylinder and hardened rust-resistant components. Air passing through the motor also cools the motor-housing seal. Therefore, the pump can continue running outside the water without immediate seal damage.

The inverted impeller and volute use SG42 cast iron for toughness and wear resistance. Moreover, the design prevents high-pressure pumped water from acting directly on the spindle seals.
The detachable impeller cover uses an O-ring seal and three bolts. As a result, technicians can reach the impeller quickly for inspection or cleaning.
Built-In Air Filtration
A high-capacity inline microfilter protects the pneumatic motor from contaminated compressed air. The flushable and replaceable filter element removes particles down to 120 microns.
Therefore, routine filter cleaning helps maintain airflow and motor performance in dusty mining environments.
Portable and Easy to Operate
The Mk4 measures approximately 435 mm high and 340 mm wide. In addition, its 17 kg weight and integrated handle simplify transport around underground and surface sites.
