Product Description

P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps

P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps provide portable, air-powered dewatering for severe mining and industrial conditions. ATS 2000 developed the Mk4 pump with a lubrication-free pneumatic motor, rust-resistant motor components and a rugged vortex pumping section. Consequently, the unit delivers dependable performance without adding oil mist from a conventional lubricated air motor.

Moreover, the pump weighs only 17 kg and includes an ergonomic carrying handle. Therefore, operators can move it quickly between sumps, headings and drainage points where electrical pumps may not suit the site.

High-Performance Mine Dewatering

The P4 Vortex Mk4 combines an inverted impeller with a side-suction volute arrangement. This layout allows water and suspended material to enter from the sides while the pump rests on the bottom of a sump. As a result, the pump can handle grit, fibres and small stones without relying on a conventional bottom screen.

At 700 kPa air pressure, the published specification lists a maximum head of 80 metres and a maximum flow of 764 litres per minute. Meanwhile, at 400 kPa, the pump provides a maximum head of 53 metres and a maximum flow of 674 litres per minute. Actual performance depends on the air supply, hose length, discharge resistance and site conditions.

Main Features

Lubrication-Free Pneumatic Motor

P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps use a lubrication-free air motor. Consequently, operators do not need to introduce oil into the compressed-air supply for routine motor lubrication.

In addition, the motor uses a stainless steel cylinder and hardened rust-resistant components. Air passing through the motor also cools the motor-housing seal. Therefore, the pump can continue running outside the water without immediate seal damage.

Durable Vortex Pumping Section

The inverted impeller and volute use SG42 cast iron for toughness and wear resistance. Moreover, the design prevents high-pressure pumped water from acting directly on the spindle seals.

The detachable impeller cover uses an O-ring seal and three bolts. As a result, technicians can reach the impeller quickly for inspection or cleaning.

Built-In Air Filtration

A high-capacity inline microfilter protects the pneumatic motor from contaminated compressed air. The flushable and replaceable filter element removes particles down to 120 microns.

Therefore, routine filter cleaning helps maintain airflow and motor performance in dusty mining environments.

Portable and Easy to Operate

The Mk4 measures approximately 435 mm high and 340 mm wide. In addition, its 17 kg weight and integrated handle simplify transport around underground and surface sites.

P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps use a 1-inch BSP air inlet and a 2-inch BSP water outlet. The published power rating is 4 kW, while the operating air-pressure range is 100–700 kPa.

Typical Applications

The P4 Vortex Mk4 suits:

  • Underground mine dewatering
  • Severe mining environments
  • Sump and excavation drainage
  • Abrasive wastewater transfer
  • Water containing grit and fibres
  • Construction and civil dewatering
  • Temporary industrial drainage
  • Areas where pneumatic operation offers practical benefits

Moreover, the pump can continue operating when lifted from the water. Therefore, workers can reposition it while maintaining discharge pressure and limiting backflow when they use the correct setup.

Pump Selection and Air-Supply Requirements

Users should select P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps according to the required flow, discharge head, air pressure and available compressor capacity. They should also consider air-hose diameter, hose length, discharge piping and the type of suspended material.

Furthermore, restricted air lines can reduce pump performance. For this reason, the installation should provide clean, dry compressed air within the published 100–700 kPa operating range.

Why Choose P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps?

P4 Vortex Pneumatic Pumps combine low weight, high head, solids-handling capability and lubrication-free pneumatic technology.

Moreover, their rugged cast iron pumping section and rust-resistant motor components support demanding mining duties. Consequently, the P4 Vortex Mk4 provides a practical dewatering solution for mines, contractors and industrial operators across the UAE.

Lubrication-Free Pneumatic Motor

Firstly, the pump features a lubrication-free pneumatic motor, which not only ensures minimal maintenance but also extends operational life. This benefit is particularly advantageous in remote mining sites where maintenance resources may be limited. Consequently, operators can focus on their tasks without worrying about frequent upkeep.

Rust-Free Technology

Moreover, the rust-free technology significantly enhances durability and reliability, making this pump ideal for harsh environments. As a result, operators can trust that it will perform consistently, even in extreme conditions where other pumps might fail.

Increased Head Height

In addition, the pump achieves an extra 10 meters of head height compared to other pneumatic pumps. This capability allows it to excel in deep applications, which is essential for effective water removal in mining operations. Therefore, it effectively addresses challenges related to depth and pressure.

Weighing just 17 kg, the ATS P4 is lightweight and portable, making it easy to handle in various field conditions. This pump offers remarkable performance metrics, including:

  • Maximum Head:
    • 80 meters at 700 kPa.
    • 53 meters at 400 kPa.
  • Maximum Flow Rate:
    • 764 liters per minute at 700 kPa.
    • 674 liters per minute at 400 kPa.

Furthermore, the pump operates efficiently, featuring low air consumption and minimal maintenance requirements. This efficiency translates into cost savings over time, making it a valuable asset for mining operations.

  • Noise Level: 85 dBa at 1 meter, which is manageable in most field settings.
  • Power Rating: 4 kW, providing robust performance.
  • Connection Options:
    • Air Inlet: 1″ BSP.
    • Air Outlet: 25 mm.
    • Water Outlet: 2″ BSP.

In conclusion, the ATS P4 Vortex Pneumatic Submersible Pump Mk4 delivers unmatched performance and reliability. Its innovative features and robust design make it ideal for severe environments, especially in the mining industry. By choosing this pump, operators can ensure efficient water removal, reduced downtime, and enhanced operational productivity. Ultimately, investing in the ATS P4 means prioritizing both performance and durability in the most challenging conditions.
