Product Description

FTI UCR Series ANSI Sealless Pumps

The FTI UCR Series consists of heavy-duty, sealless magnetic-drive centrifugal pumps engineered for extreme chemical-processing applications. Therefore, the range eliminates the conventional mechanical shaft seal while providing ANSI-dimensional installation compatibility.

Its ductile-iron casing is protected by pure, unfilled ETFE lining. Moreover, the barrier liner and inner magnets are also encapsulated in ETFE to improve resistance against aggressive and permeating chemicals.

UCR Magnetic-Drive Pump Technology

A magnetic-drive pump transfers motor power through a containment barrier without a shaft passing through the pump casing. Consequently, the design does not require a dynamic mechanical seal.

This sealless arrangement helps reduce potential leakage points when handling corrosive or hazardous liquids. Moreover, powerful neodymium magnets transmit torque to the internal impeller assembly.

Therefore, the FTI UCR Series supports dependable chemical containment when properly selected and operated.

Key Features of Finish Thompson UCR Pumps

  • Maximum working pressure up to 20.7 bar
  • Maximum liquid temperature of 121°C
  • Viscosity capability above 200 cP
  • Specific-gravity capability above 1.8
  • Ductile-iron casing with ETFE lining
  • Pure, unfilled ETFE containment barrier
  • Fully encapsulated inner magnets
  • ANSI 150, ANSI 300 and ISO PN40 flanges
  • CE, UKCA and ATEX certifications
  • NEMA, IEC, bearing-frame and gas-engine options

Together, these features allow the FTI UCR Series to serve broad chemical duties ranging from smaller transfer systems to high-capacity industrial processes.

ETFE-Lined Corrosion-Resistant Construction

Finish Thompson uses pure, unfilled ETFE for the housing lining, containment barrier and magnet encapsulation.

Unlike filled fluoropolymers, pure ETFE avoids exposing reinforcing fillers to the process liquid. Consequently, it provides dependable chemical resistance for suitable acids, bases, oxidisers and corrosive blends.

Meanwhile, the external ductile-iron casing supplies mechanical strength and pressure capability. Therefore, the pump combines a robust metal structure with a chemically resistant internal lining.

Reliable Shaft and Bushing Design

The UCR magnetic-drive pump uses a fully supported, single-geometry shaft with dual bushings. Moreover, Finish Thompson designed the hydraulic assembly to produce low radial loads and controlled axial thrust.

As a result, the shaft and bushings remain correctly aligned during operation. Consequently, this design can reduce premature internal wear and support longer service intervals.

Available shaft and bushing materials include carbon, silicon carbide and DLC Dri-Coat silicon carbide, depending on the selected model and application.

ANSI-Dimensional Pump Installation

The FTI UCR Series follows ANSI dimensional standards. Therefore, engineers can incorporate it into standard process-pump layouts using recognised nozzle locations, mounting dimensions and flange arrangements.

Connection options include:

  • ANSI 150-pound flanges
  • ANSI 300-pound flanges
  • ISO PN40 flanges

Moreover, available motor arrangements include NEMA frames from 143 to 405 and IEC frames from 90 to 280. Bearing-frame and gas-engine configurations are also available.

UCR Series Performance Range

The complete range covers flows from approximately 0.3 to 329 m³/h. Meanwhile, selected models develop heads up to 150 metres.

For example, the UCR1516 provides flows up to 29.8 m³/h and heads up to 55 metres. In contrast, the larger UCR6410 delivers up to 329 m³/h. Therefore, users must select the exact pump according to the required system duty rather than applying the series maximum to every model.

Chemical-Processing Applications

The FTI UCR Series is engineered for aggressive corrosive-fluid applications, including:

  • Chemical processing
  • Metal manufacturing
  • Mining operations
  • Metal plating
  • Fume-scrubber systems
  • Pharmaceutical processing
  • Corrosive wastewater duties
  • Industrial chemical circulation

Typical compatible liquids may include sodium hydroxide, sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite. However, chemical concentration, temperature, solids and possible reactions must be reviewed before final selection.

Selecting an FTI UCR Series Pump

Correct selection depends on:

  • Required flow and total dynamic head
  • Chemical name and concentration
  • Liquid temperature
  • Viscosity and specific gravity
  • Solids content
  • Available NPSH
  • Flange standard
  • Shaft and bushing materials
  • Motor power and speed
  • Hazardous-area certification

Therefore, users should configure the FTI UCR Series around the complete chemical and hydraulic duty. Otherwise, incorrect material or operating-point selection may cause cavitation, internal wear or reduced performance.
