Product Description
FTI SF Series
The FTI SF Series consists of sealless drum and barrel pumps designed for transferring chemicals from drums, barrels, totes and other containers. Therefore, the range provides a practical solution for applications where chemical compatibility, contamination control and reliable operation are important.
Available models include polypropylene, pure PVDF, combined PP/PVDF and 316 stainless-steel constructions. Moreover, users can select high-flow or high-head impellers according to the required transfer rate and discharge pressure.
SF Series Sealless Drum Pump Design
The sealless construction removes the mechanical shaft seal found in many conventional pumps. Consequently, there is no seal face requiring routine replacement during normal service.
This design is particularly useful for Diesel Exhaust Fluid because DEF can crystallise when exposed to air. Finish Thompson explains that crystallisation around a mechanical seal can damage the seal and create leakage or additional maintenance.
Therefore, the FTI SF Series supports cleaner and more dependable transfer of suitable chemicals when correctly selected for the liquid.
High-Flow and High-Head Impellers
The range provides two principal hydraulic options:
- High-flow models: Up to 37 gpm or 140 lpm
- High-head models: Up to 24 gpm or 91 lpm
- Maximum high-flow head: Up to 50 ft or 15 m
- Maximum high-head performance: Up to 83 ft or 25 m
Therefore, high-flow pumps suit faster container emptying. In contrast, high-head configurations support longer hoses, greater elevation or higher system resistance. Actual performance varies with the motor, viscosity, specific gravity and installation conditions.
Key Features of FTI Drum and Barrel Pumps
- Sealless chemical-transfer construction
- High-flow and high-head impeller options
- Slim 41 mm tube for smaller bung openings
- Maximum viscosity up to 1,200 cP
- Maximum specific gravity up to 2.0
- Interchangeable electric and air motors
- Integral strainer on high-flow versions
- Built-in hose and electrical-cord clips
- Several tube lengths
- Multiple chemical-resistant materials
- SFM-DEF model for DEF and AdBlue
- FDA-compliant material options on the SFS model
Together, these features allow the FTI SF Series to serve a wide range of container-to-container fluid-transfer applications.
SFM-DEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump
The SFM-DEF is specifically configured for transferring DEF or AdBlue from drums and barrels.
It includes a polypropylene tube, 316 stainless-steel shaft, EPDM O-rings and a polypropylene impeller. In addition, its 19 mm discharge and hose connection suit common DEF transfer arrangements.
With an electric motor, the high-flow version delivers up to 140 lpm. Alternatively, the high-head electric configuration provides up to 91 lpm and 25 metres of head.
Consequently, users can select either rapid filling or greater delivery pressure according to the installation.
Chemical-Resistant Tube Materials
The FTI SF Series is available with:
- Polypropylene tubes
- Pure polypropylene/PVDF combinations
- Pure PVDF tubes
- 316 stainless-steel tubes
Therefore, the range can support many acids, bases, cleaners, plating solutions and water-treatment chemicals. However, users must verify compatibility against the precise liquid concentration and temperature before selecting a model.
Operating Temperature and Tube Lengths
Maximum liquid temperature depends on construction:
- Polypropylene: Up to 79°C
- Selected PP/PVDF models: Up to 79°C
- PVDF: Generally up to 60°C
- 316 stainless steel: Up to 100°C
Available tube lengths include 69, 102, 122, 137, 152 and 183 cm. Consequently, users can match the pump with different drum, barrel and container depths.
Interchangeable Electric and Air Motors
The FTI SF Series is compatible with several ODP, TEFC, explosion-proof and pneumatic motor options.
For example, variable-speed motors allow the operator to regulate flow during filling. Meanwhile, air motors provide a non-electrical drive option where a suitable compressed-air supply is available.
However, the selected motor affects flow, head, viscosity capability and hazardous-area suitability. Therefore, the motor and pump tube must be specified as one complete assembly.
UAE Applications for SF Series Drum Pumps
The range may suit:
- Diesel Exhaust Fluid and AdBlue transfer
- Acids and bases
- Water-treatment chemicals
- Cleaning chemicals
- Plating solutions
- Kidney dialysis solutions
- Corrosive chemical transfer
- Drum and barrel emptying
- Container-to-container transfer
- Industrial chemical handling
For example, the SFM-DEF can transfer DEF into vehicle storage tanks. Similarly, a chemically compatible PVDF model can support suitable corrosive-fluid duties.
Selecting the Correct FTI SF Series Pump
Correct selection depends on:
- Liquid name and concentration
- Required flow and discharge head
- Fluid viscosity
- Specific gravity
- Operating temperature
- Container depth
- Tube material
- Motor type and electrical supply
- Hazardous-area requirements
- Hose and nozzle configuration
Therefore, users should select the FTI SF Series according to the complete transfer duty. Otherwise, incompatible materials or insufficient motor power may reduce performance and service life.
Why Choose Finish Thompson SF Series Pumps?
These pumps combine sealless operation, slim tube dimensions and flexible hydraulic options. Moreover, interchangeable motors and broad material choices make the range adaptable to varied chemical-transfer duties.
As a result, the FTI SF Series provides a practical solution for UAE businesses requiring dependable drum, barrel and DEF transfer.
