Product Description
EBARA GSD Series
The EBARA GSD Series is a range of direct-coupled, single-stage end-suction centrifugal pumps manufactured according to EN 733 dimensional standards. Therefore, the pumps provide a standardised and compact solution for clean-water circulation, transfer and pressure applications.
Official performance extends to 700 m³/h, heads up to 150 metres, and liquid temperatures from -10°C to 120°C. In addition, the maximum working pressure is 1.6 MPa or 16 bar.
Compact Direct-Coupled Construction
The EBARA GSD Series uses a stub shaft and rigid coupling to connect the pump directly to the motor. Consequently, the arrangement reduces the space required compared with a conventional long-coupled pump package.
Moreover, the direct-coupled design does not require routine coupling alignment during normal installation. As a result, commissioning can be simpler while the complete pump package remains compact.
Key Benefits of the EBARA GSD Series
- Maximum capacity up to 700 m³/h
- Maximum head up to 150 metres
- Maximum working pressure of 16 bar
- Liquid temperatures from -10°C to 120°C
- EN 733 standardised dimensions
- EN PN16 flange arrangement
- Compact direct-coupled construction
- High-efficiency hydraulic design
- Minimum Efficiency Index above 0.6
- Cast-iron pump casing
- Cast-iron, ductile-iron or bronze impeller options
- Back pull-out maintenance design
- Multiple mechanical-seal combinations
- CE and RoHS compliance
- Suitable for broad clean-water duties
Together, these characteristics provide reliable performance while supporting lower installation and operating costs. Moreover, the broad hydraulic range allows users to match the pump closely with the actual system demand.
High-Efficiency Hydraulic Design
EBARA developed the impeller using proprietary three-dimensional inverse-design technology. Consequently, the hydraulic passages support improved pump efficiency compared with earlier designs.
The EBARA GSD Series achieves a Minimum Efficiency Index greater than 0.6. Therefore, a correctly selected pump can reduce unnecessary power consumption and may allow the use of a more compact motor.
However, actual energy consumption depends on the operating point. Consequently, users should select the pump close to its best efficiency region rather than choosing only by connection size.
Cast-Iron and Bronze Impeller Options
The standard casing is manufactured from FC250 cast iron. Meanwhile, available impeller materials include cast iron, ductile cast iron on selected sizes and CAC406 bronze.
Therefore, users can select an impeller material according to the water quality and application. For example, a bronze impeller may provide improved resistance in selected water services.
The wetted portion of the shaft uses SUS420J2Q stainless steel. Moreover, different shaft-seal and material combinations are available for project-specific requirements.
Back Pull-Out Maintenance
The EBARA GSD Series uses a back pull-out structure. Therefore, technicians can remove the motor, coupling, support and impeller assembly without disconnecting the pump casing from the suction and discharge piping.
Consequently, inspection and component replacement can require less dismantling. Moreover, leaving the casing connected can reduce maintenance downtime and protect existing pipe alignment.
The simplified bearing and shaft-seal arrangement also supports straightforward assembly. In addition, standard applications do not require separate shaft-seal flushing, quenching or air-bleeding piping.
Mechanical Seal and Flange Standards
The standard pump uses a single mechanical seal based on EN 12756 dimensions. Therefore, the sealing arrangement follows a recognised industrial standard.
The EBARA GSD Series also uses EN PN16 flanges and can accommodate multiple flange standards on suitable configurations. Consequently, the range integrates with many commercial and industrial water systems.
Applications in the UAE
The EBARA GSD Series may suit:
- HVAC and air-conditioning systems
- Building water services
- Pressure-booster sets
- Irrigation and agriculture
- Firefighting installations
- Swimming pools
- Clean-water transfer
- Washing plants
- Sports facilities
- Industrial cooling systems
- Commercial water circulation
- General utility services
For example, an HVAC system can use the pump for chilled- or cooling-water circulation. Similarly, an irrigation system can use an appropriately selected model for water distribution.
Selecting the Correct GSD Pump
Correct selection depends on:
- Required flow rate
- Total dynamic head
- Liquid temperature
- Suction conditions
- Available NPSH
- Impeller material
- Mechanical-seal materials
- Motor power and voltage
- Flange requirements
- Operating schedule
Therefore, users should select the EBARA GSD Series from the complete system curve. Otherwise, an oversized or undersized pump may experience inefficient operation, vibration or premature wear.
Why Choose the EBARA GSD Series?
The EBARA GSD Series combines EN 733 standardisation with compact direct coupling, high hydraulic efficiency and easy back pull-out maintenance.
Moreover, the available material and seal options support varied clean-water applications. Therefore, it is a practical choice for UAE facilities requiring efficient performance, reduced space requirements and dependable long-term service.
