Product Description

EBARA GS Series

The EBARA GS Series consists of standardised, single-stage horizontal end-suction centrifugal pumps manufactured according to EN 733 dimensions. Moreover, the range is available as a bare-shaft pump or as a complete electric-pump assembly.

The model range extends from DN 32 to GS 200-500. In addition, official 50 Hz hydraulic tables include capacities up to approximately 780 m³/h, depending on the selected pump size and operating point.

Standardised EN 733 Construction

EN 733 standardisation defines principal pump dimensions and connection arrangements. Therefore, the EBARA GS Series can simplify engineering, installation and replacement within standardised pumping systems.

The pump uses a single-stage horizontal centrifugal design with axial suction and radial discharge. Consequently, it provides a practical arrangement for industrial water circulation and transfer.

Moreover, the broad size range allows engineers to select a pump close to the required system duty rather than operating an oversized unit inefficiently.

Key Benefits of the EBARA GS Series

  • EN 733 standardised dimensions
  • DN 32 to GS 200-500 range
  • Published capacities up to approximately 780 m³/h
  • Maximum working pressure of 16 bar
  • Liquid temperatures from -10°C to 120°C
  • Bare-shaft and electric-pump versions
  • Cast-iron pump casing
  • Cast-iron, ductile-iron and bronze impellers
  • 2-pole and 4-pole motor options
  • Motor powers from 0.37 to 355 kW
  • IE3 motors from 0.75 kW
  • Maintenance-friendly pump construction
  • Multiple shaft-seal options
  • Compatibility with EBARA electronic controls

Together, these features provide broad hydraulic coverage and dependable industrial performance. Moreover, standardised dimensions may simplify future replacement and plant expansion.

Material Options

The EBARA GS Series uses a robust cast-iron pump body. Meanwhile, impeller options include:

  • Cast iron
  • Ductile cast iron on selected larger models
  • Bronze

Therefore, users can select the impeller construction according to the water quality and application requirements.

For example, a cast-iron impeller may suit compatible general clean-water service. Alternatively, a bronze impeller may provide additional corrosion resistance in selected applications.

However, engineers should confirm material compatibility with the actual liquid chemistry and temperature before ordering.

Motor and Electric-Pump Options

EBARA offers GS electric-pump assemblies with 2-pole or 4-pole, 50 Hz motors. Available motor powers range from 0.37 to 355 kW, while motors from 0.75 kW are offered with IE3 efficiency.

Therefore, the EBARA GS Series can serve moderate and high-capacity installations. Moreover, users can select a bare-shaft version when the project requires a separately specified motor, coupling or baseplate.

Operating Pressure and Temperature

The maximum published working pressure is 16 bar or 1.6 MPa. In addition, the pump can handle suitable liquids from approximately -10°C to 120°C.

Consequently, the range supports chilled-water, cooling-water and moderately heated-water applications.

However, the permitted temperature also depends on the selected seal materials and complete pump configuration. Therefore, users should verify the final duty against EBARA’s technical data.

Maintenance-Friendly Design

The EBARA GS Series is designed so technicians can disassemble and inspect the pump without removing the casing from the connected piping.

As a result, maintenance teams can gain access to the rotating components while preserving pipe alignment. Moreover, this arrangement can reduce service time and limit disruption to the surrounding system.

Electronic Control Integration

EBARA offers electronic solutions that can interact with GS electric-pump assemblies. For example, an appropriate variable-speed controller can regulate pump output according to system demand.

Consequently, users may reduce unnecessary energy consumption in variable-flow systems. Moreover, EBARA’s E-SPD control platform includes protection functions for conditions such as overcurrent, overheating, voltage problems and dry running.

Applications in the UAE

The EBARA GS Series may suit:

  • HVAC chilled-water systems
  • Cooling-water circulation
  • Industrial water transfer
  • Commercial building services
  • Pressure-booster systems
  • Irrigation installations
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Process cooling
  • Utility-water systems
  • Heavy-duty clean-water duties

For example, an industrial facility can use the pump for cooling-water circulation. Similarly, a commercial development can use an electronically controlled configuration to respond to changing system demand.

Selecting the Correct GS Pump

Correct selection depends on:

  • Required flow rate
  • Total dynamic head
  • Liquid temperature
  • Available NPSH
  • Impeller material
  • Mechanical-seal materials
  • Motor power and speed
  • Installation arrangement
  • Control requirements
  • Operating schedule

Therefore, users should select the EBARA GS Series from the complete system curve. Otherwise, an incorrectly sized pump may operate inefficiently or experience vibration, cavitation and premature wear.

Standardised single-stage cast iron centrifugal pump and electric pump which combines the best technical and performance features in a single solution.

The wide range (from DN 32 up to DN 200-500), the variety of materials available, the easy maintenance and the hydraulic efficiency, are further enhanced by the interaction with the electronic solutions also offered by EBARA.
The GS models are available in both bare shaft and electric pump versions, with the following technical features:

  • Robust cast iron pump body
  • Impellers available in cast iron, ductile cast iron and bronze

The seal can be selected in two different versions: the mechanical one in Silicon Carbide/Carbon/EPDM and the packing one, in Silicon Carbide fibre. It has two replaceable bronze wear rings that ensure long-term reliable operation and high hydraulic efficiency.

Finally the flanges, from DN 32 up to DN 200, all PN16 (with reference to EN 1092-1), make GS a product suitable for the heaviest and most demanding applications. The motors are available with 2 or 4 poles, 50 Hz, with IE3 efficiency (from 0.75 kW), with powers ranging from 0.37 kW to 355 kW, which can be coupled with inverters.
