Product Description
BC Series Sewage Pumps
The BC Series Sewage Pumps provide dependable submersible pumping for dirty water, sewage and wastewater containing suspended solids and short fibres. Pedrollo designed the range for domestic, civil and industrial drainage duties.
Moreover, the precision-cast two-channel impeller provides an efficient hydraulic path through the pump. Consequently, compatible solids can pass through the casing while the pump maintains useful flow and discharge head.
Two-Channel BC Sewage Pump Design
The pump uses an AISI 304 stainless-steel impeller with two defined hydraulic channels.
During operation, these channels transfer liquid and suspended material through the pump casing. Therefore, the design provides efficient solids handling without relying on a grinder or cutting mechanism.
However, long fibres, wipes, ropes and unsuitable debris may still cause blockage. As a result, users should prevent these materials from entering the collection chamber.
Main Features and Benefits
- Precision-cast two-channel impeller
- AISI 304 stainless-steel impeller

- Model-specific minimum immersion levels
Together, these features make the BC Series Sewage Pumps suitable for reliable wastewater removal in residential and commercial systems.
BC Series Sewage Pump Performance
The complete range delivers flow rates up to approximately 850 litres per minute, equivalent to 51 m³/h. Selected configurations also develop heads up to approximately 17 metres.
However, maximum flow and maximum head occur at different operating points. Therefore, engineers must select the exact BC model from its hydraulic curve rather than assigning both maximum figures to every pump.
Handling Solids and Short Fibres
The BC wastewater pump can pass compatible suspended solids measuring up to approximately 50 mm in diameter.
Moreover, the two-channel design can transfer short fibrous material commonly found in domestic and civil wastewater. Nevertheless, the pump does not shred or reduce solids.
Therefore, the complete system should prevent oversized objects, long fibres and non-pumpable waste from reaching the sump.
Durable Construction Materials
Pedrollo manufactures the standard BC pump housing from cast iron. Meanwhile, the motor sleeve and precision-cast impeller use AISI 304 stainless steel.
In addition, the pump shaft uses AISI 431 stainless steel. Consequently, the construction combines mechanical strength with corrosion resistance in compatible wastewater applications.
Submersible Motor and Protection
The BC range uses a two-pole submersible motor with an IP68 ingress-protection rating.
Therefore, the motor suits submerged operation when installers follow the manufacturer’s requirements. However, correct immersion remains necessary for continuous cooling and dependable service.
BC Series Operating Limits
Published operating limits include:
- Maximum flow: Up to 850 l/min or 51 m³/h
- Maximum head: Up to 17 metres
- Maximum solids passage: Up to 50 mm
- Maximum liquid temperature: 40°C
- Maximum operating depth: 5 metres
- Minimum immersion for BC 10/50: 290 mm
- Minimum immersion for BC 15/50: 330 mm
- Minimum immersion for BC 20/50: 360 mm
- Motor protection: IP68
However, model-specific instructions must determine the final operating limits and installation arrangement.
Sewage and Wastewater Applications
The BC Series Sewage Pumps may support:
- Domestic sewage drainage
- Residential wastewater collection
- Surface-water removal
- Sludge-mixed wastewater
- Apartment-building sumps
- Basement wastewater systems
- Civil drainage installations
- Commercial wastewater collection
- Industrial dirty-water drainage
- Small sewage lifting systems
- Washing and service areas
- Collection tanks and sumps
Moreover, the compact submersible design suits installations where the pump operates directly inside the collection chamber.
Installation Considerations
The pump may be installed in a suitable sump, collection tank or lifting arrangement.
Installers should use correctly sized discharge pipes and suitable non-return and isolation valves. In addition, the pump should remain accessible for inspection and maintenance.
Consequently, a guided lifting or removable installation arrangement may simplify servicing in deeper sumps.
Selecting the Correct BC Sewage Pump
Correct selection depends on required flow, total head, solids size, liquid composition and sump dimensions.
Engineers should also confirm the available electrical supply, discharge-pipe diameter, minimum immersion level and operating frequency. Therefore, specialists should select the precise model from official hydraulic data.
Otherwise, an unsuitable pump may cycle excessively, clog or fail to provide the required discharge head.
