Product Description
Toyo ET Slurry Pumps
The Toyo ET Slurry Pumps provide compact, heavy-duty pumping for dense and abrasive slurries containing settled solids. Their patented shaft-mounted agitator loosens sediment and directs the mixture towards the semi-open impeller. Therefore, the pump can transfer material that may settle around a conventional submersible inlet.
Moreover, the top-discharge design incorporates a full cooling jacket. Consequently, suitable ET pumps can operate fully submerged or partially immersed in narrow installations.
ET Cooling-Jacket Design
Each Toyo ET heavy-duty pump uses its cooling jacket to control motor temperature. As a result, it can continue working when the liquid level falls.
In addition, Toyo supplies thermal protection as standard. Therefore, a compatible control panel can stop the pump when motor temperature exceeds the permitted limit.

Toyo ET Pump Performance
The ET range provides pumping capacities up to 120 m³/h. Moreover, suitable configurations can handle slurries containing up to 55% solids by weight.
Toyo also positions the pumps for slurry densities of approximately 1.25 kg/dm³ and above. However, these are range-wide capabilities. Therefore, engineers must use model-specific hydraulic data.
Patented Agitator System
The agitator mounts directly on the pump shaft. During operation, it lifts settled sand, sludge and process residue before the impeller draws the mixture into the casing.
Consequently, the Toyo agitator pump creates a more uniform mixture and may reduce manual sump cleaning.
Nevertheless, the agitator cannot process every material. Therefore, users must confirm particle hardness, shape, concentration and maximum size before selection.
High-Chrome Wear Components
Toyo uses cast chrome iron containing approximately 24% to 28% chromium for the impeller, wear plate and agitator.
As a result, these parts resist abrasion from sand, minerals and industrial sediment. Moreover, Toyo offers selected ET configurations in alternative metallurgies, including stainless steel.
However, engineers must review slurry chemistry before choosing materials.
Adjustable Wear Plate
The ET design includes an adjustable wear plate. Therefore, technicians can restore the clearance between the impeller and wear surface as gradual abrasion occurs.
Consequently, adjustment helps preserve efficiency and may extend wear-part life.
Motor, Shaft and Seal Protection
The Toyo ET Slurry Pumps use a custom four-pole motor with a 1.25 service factor. Therefore, the motor can accommodate changing loads during dense-slurry transfer.
Meanwhile, a heavy-duty shaft and carefully selected bearings support the rotating assembly. Two mechanical seals operate inside an oil bath; consequently, the sealing system protects the motor from abrasive slurry.
Operating Limits for ET Slurry Pumps
Published series limits include:
- Maximum capacity: Up to 120 m³/h
- Solids concentration: Up to 55% by weight
- Particle size: Up to 30 mm
- Standard slurry temperature: Up to 60°C
- High-temperature version: Up to 80°C
- Permitted pH range: 4–14
- Standard operating depth: Up to 30 m
However, these limits do not apply simultaneously to every model. Therefore, users must confirm the selected Toyo ET pump’s individual specifications.
Deep-Installation Versions
Standard ET pumps operate at depths up to 30 metres. Alternatively, special ET10 to ET20 versions can operate at depths up to 60 metres without an additional external device.
Consequently, these versions suit selected deep pits and shafts. However, the cable and pump construction must match the depth.
Typical Applications for Toyo ET Pumps
The Toyo ET Slurry Pumps may support:
- Narrow industrial sumps
- Construction pits containing sediment
- Sand and slurry transfer
- Tank and lagoon cleaning
- Mining and mineral-processing slurry
- Quarry water containing solids
- Settling-basin clean-out
- Abrasive sludge pumping
- Foundation and piling work
- Process-residue transfer
- Dredging support
- Partially immersed pumping duties
Moreover, the compact layout suits confined installations. Nevertheless, engineers must review head, abrasion and particle dimensions.
Choosing the Correct ET Model
Correct selection depends on flow, total head, slurry density, solids percentage and maximum particle size.
In addition, engineers should confirm slurry temperature, pH, operating depth, metallurgy, motor supply and installation arrangement. Therefore, specialists should select the Toyo ET Slurry Pumps from model-specific curves and technical data.
Otherwise, an unsuitable pump may wear rapidly or overload the motor.
